Category 13, A Drabble Collection: David E Blake (ed.): The Drabble Project
What else would I pick for this category than the original collection, a hundred stories with hundred words each from both amateurs and professional writers like Isaac Asimov, Brian Aldiss and Larry Niven. Drabbles have always seemed me perfect examples of writer's form, it is something that writer and readers who are also writers seem to be more interested than plain readers. Or I could be projecting. Be that as it may, this was a bit of an empty excercise, it is like reading pitches for stories, not the stories themselves.

I think we pretty much made my opinion of the noir detective story clear when we talked about Gun with Occasional Music. 
So yeah, no. Harry Dresden is a wizard and a private detective taking on supernatural crimes. He has a cat, a rubbish car and a number of females making eyes at his stupid stunts and sexsism. It is quite decently written, true to its noir genre, and if you like that – and supernatural urban fantasy, this might very well be for you. It was not for me.
Organic Chinese Matcha
As I have been completely mesmerised by Australian Masterchef, I have started using matcha in cooking. It gives a nice a bit bitter twist to baked stuff. This is slightly higher grade of matcha than the one I use for cooking, but by no means a high end powder. Matcha tea is made by adding few grams of powder to 2 dl's of water heated up to 90 degrees. Traditionally it is then whisked in bowl with a bamboo whisk. I use an electric champagne whisk. The taste is nice, but I still find the consistency strange: tea should not be powdery.
