Well, I say. This new Hugh Grant/Drew Barrymore romcom really looks like something that people who started listening to pop music in the early 1980's should love. I've come to the notion, that not only is 12 the Golden Age of Science Fiction, but also Pop Music. Meaning that the stuff you're into when you're 12'ish, pretty much stays with you for the rest of your life.
Apparently Hugh Grant listened to CD hits from the 1980's to get a feel for the music of the time. He later met with Martin Fry to learn more about what it meant to be a musician during that era. It was apparently key preparation for this role. Nostalgia trip if anything, this one, methinks.
