Having been more sick than a sick dog, and still not really all that well (then again, am I ever?), I haven’t been able to write, nor post any Interaction memories/report. It’ll come, next week, Roscoe willing.
This week will include other, of which one of the more pleasant ones is the arrival of Juliette Woods and Damian Warman, this year’s GUFF-winners (GUFF as in Get Up-and-go Fan Fund) from Australia. As most of you probably know, there is a bunch of fan funds around. The most famous of them would be TAFF (Trans Atlantic Fan Fund), which sends fen over the Atlantic, of course. Then there’s GUFF, DUFF (Down Under ie. the opposite of GUFF), TIFF, JPG, BITMAP and our very own NOFF (NOrdic Fan Fund, the one that got me to Linköping in 2002).
Juliette and Damian are coming to Tammere tonight and continue to Helsinki the next day. As in Tomorrow. Tuesday the 16th. Soon.
They were forced to change their original plans, which would’ve included Baltic states right about now, with Helsinki around 18th (as in St. Urho’s Mafia), so all this is a bit sudden, but I hope we can cook up a nice meeting of Helsinki fandom for Tuesday. I believe J&D would like to sample around Helsinki during the day, maybe go to Suomenlinna (weather permitting), and generally relax around while sight-seeing. In the evening, they would love to meet local fen at some pleasant and preferably quiet booze-up restaurant (fairly central location), with some spirited discussions and a few beers. How about it, folks?
